I love being able to spam the fire button, even if it breaks the game. I wonder if it could've been fun to implement a count to see how fast a player shot. An amazing presentation for such a cute game. I really thought that the western-style music was also cat-related... meows lol
I got too trigger happy when the Wild West motif played and lost :'( I love the reference to that classic scene! The dialogue flow was so good, and the sprites were so cute. I like the pixel designs of everything.
I really enjoyed this! Everything from the game to the itch.io page is really well-done and matches the theme perfectly. It's amazing how much you did for this project with such little time! I also really like the art work. I think you could definitely develop this into a longer game to add more of a plot.
I do not have an exact reference of a genre this game reminds me of but the gameplay of the shoot out reminds me of quick-time events in video games, where you have to perform an input or an action within a limited amount of time. I managed to get it within my first try but I could definitely feel a sense of tension as the countdown went by. It made me want to use my gun immediately just to ensure that I will survive.
I actually wonder if you can expand upon this arcade-style, similar to that one Kirby samurai mini-game (I believe, Super Star / Ultra?). It'd be interesting if there's more feline opponents with even shorter reaction times to fire. Maybe even hiding the "3 2 1" in order to really keep the players on their toes (or should I say, paws?). Really nice job!
Despite it being listed as a bug, my favorite part of my experience was accidently pressing f too early, and then being able to spam my pistol while continuously saying “poor fella” as though I’m not constantly pouring lead into this other cowboy cat.
The visual elements of this game is insanely well made. I just want to point ou a bug: if you press F right when a cowboy appears, it triggers a shootout between two cowboys that never ends, neither side wins or loses.
Everything from the visual style, music, the font, and the writing style like using ‘ya’ instead of ‘you’ is so charming. I’m so captivated by the art, did you use Aseprite? I kinda ran into a bug where I tried to fire too fast and disappeared (I thought I died, but then we kept talking so maybe it was my ghost!)
This game is oozing with style and I want to see this world expanded.
I really enjoyed how well made the game was, from the art to the sound design. Building off of unkani grani's comment, I can imagine a version of the game were the the mechanics were more comedic with elements like having the player wait actual minutes for the duel to start and maybe humorous inner dialogue from the cat during the duel.
This game is incredibly well made. There's the actual "game" element of winning a duel as well as a story with some great sprites. A suggestion I might have is that you could make it initially clearer that you have to press space to advance the dialogue. For the first second, I was confused if the duel was about to happen or I needed to input something.
The whole expedience of playing this game is great, from the detailed setting and characters to the music and sound effects. It gets across the classic western setting while having a fun and cute spin on it. Did you make all the pixel art or were you able to get it from somewhere?
i love this game and i gotta say, the first page could be a whole game on its own- just a page telling the player to wait and they do and that’s the whole punchline…
Besides the cute art design, I really like how the positioning of the text lets you know whether a character is talking or if it’s the narrator. I accidentally broke the game by firing early into it but I think a quick fix would be by making the feature available once the duel begins.
It is one of the most impressive game I have played so far! I love the cute design of the cat as a cowboy fighter, really really cool! I love everything of this game, the background music is suitable as well~The only thing sad is I lose my run🙀My cowboy cat dies😭
Firstly, love the story that’s going on here, very cute and aesthetic! Simple in terms of buttons with space to display the strings and F to draw the gun. While I like the instruction in the beginning, maybe having a note during the moment would be potentially beneficial.
I like how you made the little gun fire system. Also, I guess it is made time function? Maybe computer will have a time period to decide if the player wins.
The art style is really cute and makes me laugh when i’m looking at such a serious cowboy cat drawn to be cute. The story is also very try western with the music and style.
I really like the art style and music choice. I think the timing aspect of the game is really fun. I did notice a small bug where I could fire before the duel actually began, and doing so breaks a bit of dialogue, and stops you from actually firing during the duel. Other than that, it was really fun. It took me a few tries to successfully win the duel!

Oohh narrative and a game within a game, really cool idea and great execution!

The dialogue is very fitting of the silly style of cats in cowboy outfits, with the classic western music pairing really well with it!

I love the cowboy cats! The amount of effort you put into the visuals.. even this font? 10/10. I also thought the music was great.
